QARYON SQUARE

Rehabilitation and revitalization of Qaryon Square in the old city of Nablus, a project I worked on during my studies at the university. In recent times, Qaryon Square has witnessed a lot of distortion due to modifications and additions due to the residents living in its vicinity.

Adjacent to the square is an old soap factory whose construction dates back to before 1980 AD, and which is also currently uninhabited. During the work, I tried to revive the square and rehabilitate the buildings adjacent to it as much as possible, in order to attract tourists and visitors to it and make it more important to the responsible authorities for the purpose of preserving it in the coming years.

The architectural elements found in the area were reused with new materials and different sizes and proportions, to ensure a clear contrast to distinguish the old from the new (for visitors and tourists).
